March 9 polls: Ebonyi APC chieftains sold out — Ogbuoji

Magnus Eze, Enugu

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9 polls in Ebonyi State, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji, has accused some chieftains of the party in the state of working against the party in the elections.    Addressing newsmen in Enugu, yesterday, Ogbuoji, who did not name the alleged saboteurs, dispaelled the rumour that he sold out in the election but rather said that some ranking members of the party connived with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state to perpetuate electoral irregularities as well as frustrate the efforts of the party, thereby dimming its fortunes.

According to him, “all party insiders know that the APC in Ebonyi worked so much against itself. By this allusion, I don’t indict all the members or leadership. I am actually talking about the moles among us that double dealt and made things impossible for us while they cloaked like part of us.”

He described the results of the exercise as criminal figures cooked by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in compromise with the state government.
