In a draw held in front of 8,000 spectators at Shenzhen Bay Arena in China on Saturday, the 2017 Afrobasket finalist, D’Tigers who are making their third appearance at the tournament after a 12-year absence since 2006 will play all their group games in Wuhan.
Alex Nwora’s side who was the first country to qualify for the World Cup will face Russia in their first game on the 31st of August before taking on Argentina in their second group game on the 2nd of September according to the fixtures drawn by FIBA.
Their final group game is against Korea on the 4th of September.
In the other groups, Cote D’ Ivoire will battle Poland, Venezuela, and China in group A while in group C houses Spain, Iran, Puerto Rico, and Tunisia.
Angola will face the Philippines, Italy, and Serbia in Group D.
Turkey, Czech, USA, and Japan will battle for the two available spots in group E while Brazil, Greece, New Zealand, and Montenegro were pooled in group F.
The Dominican Republic will face France, Germany and Jordan are drawn in group G.
Group H houses Australia, Senegal Lithuania and Canada.
The tournament tips off from Saturday, 31 August to Sunday, 15 September 2019 in eight cities in China.
